Counselling and Therapy in Fulham, South West London
I am a qualified, registered counsellor based in Fulham and I offer a safe place for one-to-one sessions for short or long-term counselling with individual adults and teenagers.
Counselling is a way to help you through challenging times. We all experience difficulties in life and there are times when things can feel overwhelming. Our thoughts and feelings can be too much to understand and this causes confusion, which can lead to anxiety.
I believe that it is my role as a counsellor to support you on your journey through self-discovery. In a calm and empathetic environment, I can provide you with a confidential space to explore these feelings, giving you an opportunity to re-examine your life and make new decisions.
My Approach to Counselling
I am a Humanistic Counsellor and I believe that we are all born to be good and make the best of our lives.
In my counselling work, I use Person-Centred, Transactional Analysis and Gestalt approaches. This means that I bring empathy and honesty to every session, and I will give you unconditional acceptance. I will relate to you with respect as an adult and remain fully present during our counselling sessions in order to support you as you explore your thoughts and feelings. Most importantly, I am a relational therapist and I believe the relationship that we form together throughout your journey through counselling is paramount in order to help you change and improve your life.
Some clients may benefit from mindfulness and meditation, and together we can explore whether that would be an appropriate tool for you.
I trained at the prestigious Metanoia Institute in London and I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and a member of the Metanoia Institute, London. I adhere to both the BACP Ethical Code and the Metanoia Code of Ethics.
I was born in Hungary and moved to the UK when I was 23. This has taught me a great deal about cultural differences and it means that I know what it’s like to feel like an outsider. I speak both Hungarian and English, and I can undertake counselling in either language.
I can also help clients who are coping with the pressures of competitive sports. I come from a sporty family and I swam at a national level at a young age. I understand what it means to shoulder expectation and handle the stressful and regimented lifestyle associated with competing at a high level, as well as the impact that it can have on your body image and self-esteem.
Other areas I can help with
I am experienced in counselling clients who have difficulties with :
- Panic attacks
- Relationship problems
- Grief and loss
- Low self-esteem
- Recovering from a narcissistic relationship or abuse
Here to Help
Your mental health is just as important as your physical health. After my recent post about the effects of competitive sports on emotional wellbeing, I was pleased to discover this article about Heads Up - a new campaign from The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's mental health charity Heads Together and the Football Association - to raise awareness and support players.
If you have concerns about sports and mental health, contact me for support.
